The estates approach focuses solely on quality. Only the best fruit makes it to the cellar: a rigorous, step-by-step selection process that starts in the vineyard and continues through to final blending
Triple Selection
Each Soil Unit is harvested according to its own specific schedule. The grapes are sorted three times: first by hand in the vineyard, then on the sorting table, and finally through optical selection – ensuring only the most pristine berries are used.
Plot-by-Plot Vinification
Thanks to a system of temperature-controlled truncated-cone stainless steel tanks and Tulip-shaped concrete vats, each Soil Unit is fermented and matured separately. This method – known as plot-by-plot vinification – preserves the unique character of each site. Later, these individual expressions are carefully selected and blended to form a final wine that reflects the estate’s identity in full harmony.
Space for Aging
Every Soil Unit is given the time and space it needs to evolve in oak – allowing its distinctive character to emerge fully. Once each has reached ideal maturity, the blending process begins: an orchestration of terroirs that builds the singular identity of each Brunello.
During aging, oak helps refine the personality of the wine, smoothing youthful edges and revealing depth and structure. Concrete is used both during fermentation and for post-blending aging – helping ensure balance, clarity, and long-term harmony.
