Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva 2016
This was an exceptional year in Brunello and straight away you are struck by the depth of expression, and the tannic heft and width. Plenty of raspberry, rose petal and red cherry puree along with blackberry, campfire and brioche notes. A classic, signature Brunello with all that you expect from a 2016 in the region. Absolutely one to look out for, moreish, saline-streaked, mouthwatering and walks the line of power and finesse. This is just approaching the sweet spot for drinking but will hold. 30 months in bottle after 30 months in barrel. Slavonian oak casks for ageing.

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2017
An excellent Brunello in a difficult vintage. Clear caramelised raspberry notes, sweet smoky soy and orange peel, lovely freshness for such a hot year, and has a lightness of touch to the red cherry and cassis fruit. The 2016 release of this wine through the Place last September came six months after the release in Italy, so this Spring release is putting it back in rhythm. Owner Marcel van Poecke, in organic conversion. 18 months in bottle after ageing 30 months in barrel.

Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2020
Fragrant floral aromatics, making your mouth water even before taking a sip. Soft tannins, fresh and mineral, mouth-watering salinity, giving a flood of juice through the palate, unfussy and delicious. Easy to enjoy, easy to share, from a brilliant vintage in the region that offers real treasures among great value wines.
